About the role

The School seeks expressions of interest from experienced Laboratory Demonstrators/Tutors, into our Biomedical Science program on the Broadway Campus in Sydney. We are looking for sessional academic staff members with subject matter expertise in the following areas:

  • Anatomy and Physiology
  • Scientific writing and literacy
  • Chemistry

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct laboratories/tutorials to the standard of the Program.
  • Consultation with students in relation to activities, practicals, weekly topics and upcoming assessments.
  • Assisting with assessment administration, such as marking, entering results and providing feedback to students as required.
  • Attend meetings as required by the Course Coordinator/Program Coordinator.

Qualifications, skills & experience

  • Qualified to at least one AQF qualification level higher than the course of study being taught, or with equivalent professional experience. A minimum of an undergraduate qualification.
  • Knowledge and understanding of current scholarship and/or professional practice in the relevant discipline.
  • Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to deliver quality learning and teaching practices in multiple modes.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including ability to foster high levels of collegiality and ability to empathise with students.
