Job Summary

The Laboratory Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the laboratory at AmSpec Group. This includes ensuring the laboratory is equipped with the necessary resources and personnel to meet the company's quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and improve the quality management system to ensure compliance with industry regulations.
  • Review and analyze quality control data to identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement corrective and preventative action plans to address non-conformances.
  • Ensure accurate and timely laboratory Certificates of Analysis are reported.
  • Coordinate and schedule laboratory assignments to laboratory personnel.
  • Perform analysis and receive, compile, and verify data resulting from laboratory testing.
  • Analyze and compile quality control sample results to ensure operating efficiency of processes and/or testing equipment.
  • Provide training to laboratory personnel and serve as a liaison between laboratory personnel and management.
  • Manage laboratory equipment and supply inventory and coordinate the replacement or repair of faulty equipment and supplies.
  • Ensure all necessary laboratory calibrations are performed.

Requirements

  • One of the following education and/or experience levels must be met:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline and 2 years of experience in a petroleum laboratory.
  • Associate's Degree in a technical discipline and 3 years of experience in a petroleum laboratory.
  • 5 years of experience in a petroleum laboratory.
  • Demonstrate strong managerial, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Communicate effectively with employees, outside consultants, and management.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of industry-related safety and training protocols.
  • Demonstrate the ability to grasp new procedures quickly and implement them.
