An opportunity exists for a Nurse Unit Manager to take on a leadership position within our brand new busy perioperative department at La Trobe Private Hospital. Your clinical skills, excellent leadership capabilities and positive approach to work will ensure your success in the role. Your will report to the Peri-Operative Services Manager for Northpark & La Trobe Private Hospitals.

As a Nurse Unit Manager your responsibilities will include:

· Coordination and allocation of staff

· Understanding of legislative requirements, ACORN and Sterilisation standards

· Knowledge of accreditation processes and Quality/Risk management

· Ensure workplace health and safety guidelines and policies are met

· Manage Budgets and attainment of budgetary targets and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Essential Criteria:

· Current Registered Nurse Registration with AHPRA

· Post Graduate Qualifications in Nursing, highly desirable

· Minimum of 5 years senior nursing experience within the Perioperative unit

· High degree of computer literacy including MS Office

· Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills

La Trobe Private Hospital has recently undergone a significant redevelopment opened its doors in February 2024. It boasts 34 surgical beds, 4 brand new Operating Suites, Day of Surgery Admission and 23 Consulting Suites. It is located in the busy La Trobe University district and well positioned to public transport and has available car parking.
