Reporting to the Superintendent Sustaining Capital, you will be an experienced Project Manager delivering successful projects and engineering solutions, on time, to budget and without quality issues. 


You will be responsible for: 

End-to-end project management from design through to commissioning of multiple simultaneous projects of values between $K and $m Set performance standards and implement engineering standards and risk management practices Obtain clear agreement on project team and stakeholder objectives Update and maintain project schedules, resource plans and cost estimates.

Our ideal team member would be a Project Manager with a background in engineering and experience in handling multiple simultaneous projects. 

We are looking to speak to people who can demonstrate the following: 

Tertiary qualification in related field highly regarded CPEng Accreditation or PMP Qualification is preferred Formal Project Management and/or Contractor Management training is preferred Extensive site experience in heavy industry

SIMEC Mining , a member of GFG Alliance , has operations in SA and NSW. Our Iron Ore mining operations in South Australia’s Middleback Ranges, south west of Whyalla, consist of three primary mine sites: Iron Baron, Iron Knob and the South Middleback Ranges. Our Tahmoor Colliery in New South Wales, is an underground longwall coal mine with an associated coal preparation plant, producing high quality coking coal for global markets. Administration functions and ore pelletising and port facilities are located within the city limits of Whyalla, with corporate functions based in Adelaide and Sydney. 
The Iron Ore business is on an exciting trajectory to expand our mining and processing operations with significant investment over the next three years. Our operations in Tahmoor NSW produce metallurgical coal for the steel making process where the business is currently investing to expand and extend the life of the operations.
