About the Role

As the Clinical Documentation Specialist, you will be engaging with doctors, nurses, and Allied Health staff to ensure all clinical documentation is complete and accurately reflects the complexity of each patient.

This dynamic role involves undertaking clinical documentation reviews, hospital-wide education and assists with quality improvement projects. The CDS works in alignment with the health information team as well as liaising with other leaders within the hospital.

This opportunity is a permanent part-time position, 48 hours/fortnight.

Your Skills and Experience

To succeed in this role, you will be able to report on all outcomes in a standardised, efficient, and timely manner. You will be a self-motivated, ambitious individual who can work effectively in a team environment, but also autonomously and have a proven ability to engage with clinicians and other key stakeholders. A passion for quality improvement and promoting culture change desirable.

You will also demonstrate the following:

  • Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
  • Extensive experience in an acute care hospital setting
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain good clinical relationships
  • Excellent critical thinking skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite programs
  • Knowledge of the DRG classification system and private healthcare funding models desirable

Remuneration

On offer is an hourly rate up to $50.29 + superannuation based on qualifications and experience. Exclusive of penalties and allowances.

About Our Hospital

Located in Kogarah, 20 minutes from Sydney Airport and 30 minutes from Sydney City, St George Private Hospital serves the diverse population of Sydney’s southern suburbs and is adjacent to The St George Public Hospital - one of Sydney's major university teaching hospitals.

St George Private Hospital is a 276-bed facility, which underwent a major redevelopment in 2016. Our hospital is one of Australia’s most modern private hospitals – with a strong surgical expertise in cardiac, orthopaedics, cancer care, spinal surgery, endoscopy, aged care, general surgery and obstetrics.

Requirements

  • Must provide a National Police check conducted within the previous 12 months
  • According to the role, Ramsay may require a Working-With-Children check and proof of immunisation against infectious diseases, which may include Covid-19.
