JOB SUMMARY

Data Product Manager will lead development of data products that will power predictive models, data offerings, APIs, and software solutions at a global Contract Research Organization.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Product Leadership. Lead the end-to-end development of a portfolio of data products, from ideation to deployment to maintenance and continuous improvement through acquisition of data from internal and external sources, ML modeling, transformation, and other activities.
  • Requirements Gathering. Collaborate with users, application design teams, data scientists, data engineers, and other stakeholders to gather, define, and document precise requirements and specifications for the data products.
  • Roadmap Management. Link business priorities to source data needs and communicate cross-functionally. Create and manage the data product roadmap, establishing clear timelines for development, release, and iterative enhancements.
  • Feature Development. Write comprehensive user stories and acceptance criteria. Prioritize feature development. Collaborate with engineers to design data models that support the product’s objectives. Collaborate with data scientists to define model outputs.
  • Data Acquisition & Integration. Collaborate with internal data science teams, data engineering teams, and external data providers to ensure efficient data generation, acquisition and integration. Maintain and cultivate cross-functional awareness of planned and unplanned changes to dependent services.
  • Regulatory Compliance. Ensure that requirements for data products are in compliance with relevant regulations and internal governance processes. Conduct privacy impact assessments and maintain all relevant documentation. Collaborate with compliance and legal teams.
  • Quality Assurance. Establish quality, reliability, and governance standards. Develop and monitor key quality metrics. Review test scripts and test evidence to ensure product integrity.
  • Documentation. Maintain data product documentation that is relevant to technical and nontechnical audiences. Detailed technical documentation includes feature specifications, architecture outlines, data models, workflow processes, implementation guides, release notes, etc. Nontechnical documentation includes business purpose of the data product, examples of how the data product generates value, summary statistics of the data product’s content, etc.
  • Access Management. Manage appropriate access to data products for the stakeholders including data science teams, engineering teams, and business users.
  • Domain knowledge. Maintain fluence of internal data products

Qualifications

What we’re looking for
  • Proven experience in managing complex data products, preferably in clinical research or pharmaceutical environment.
  • Strong understanding of data management, analytics, and technical aspects of data products.
  • Experience architecting logical, physical, and consumption models for use in analytics and applications is preferred. This may include secure APIs, SQL-based consumption, file-based consumption, etc.
  • Proficiency in SQL for data querying and analysis. Experience with Python programming preferred.
  • Familiarity with clinical trial processes, business aspects, and regulatory compliance in the life sciences industry.
  • Familiarity with machine learning algorithms and their dependencies and applications in data products.
  • Proven experience conducting business and/or data analysis to elicit business requirements for software applications and/or analytics that drive business decisions.
  • Strong self-starter and leadership qualities with communication and project management skills.
  • A degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field
  • Experience or strong willingness to adapt to working with global and remote teams with large numbers of stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with modern approaches to data management, including data mesh, data fabric, master data management, reference data management, governance, data catalogs

The annual base salary (US Only) for this position ranges from $85,500 to $148,800. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high of the Syneos Health range for this position. Actual salary will vary based on various factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.
