**THE ROLE**:
The Manager of Data Management and Analytics reports to the Chief Data Officer and is responsible for developing and managing Austrade’s data assets on Austrade’s Enterprise Data Platform, a cloud-based analytical environment. The role involves leading a specialised team of data professionals responsible for the technical aspects of data management, including data engineering, data science, and the development of business intelligence products. The Manager will collaborate with various business areas across the agency to deliver an ongoing work program to support business needs.

The Manager will need to balance immediate operational needs with strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing the organisation's data capabilities. The work of the team includes designing and implementing data pipelines, and developing analytical tools and products that enable data-driven insights. The Manager will also support the Chief Data Officer in fostering a culture of data quality and reliability, ensuring that all data assets are managed according to best practices and industry standards.

DUTIES INCLUDE:

- Lead and manage a team of data engineers, data analysts, and Power BI developers.
- Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines, data warehouses, and data lakes.
- Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and security across the organisation.
- Implement data management strategies and best practices.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and address data needs.
- Develop and deploy business intelligence tools and reports.
- Drive continuous improvement in data processes and methodologies.
- Support efforts to increase data maturity within the organisation.
- Ensure data projects are delivered on time, within scope, and with high quality.
- Provide technical expertise and mentorship to team members.

TEAM COLLABORATION:

- Work closely with the Data Front Door and Data Governance team to ensure alignment on data governance policies and strategies.
- Align with colleagues in Digital responsible for maintenance of data infrastructure.
- Collaborate on the development and implementation of data products, such as visualisations and reports, ensuring they meet technical and governance standards.
