This role involve people leadership and is responsible for driving the on-time development of clinically effective, innovative and commercially successful products for the ANZ markets by working closely with technical formulation, regulatory, quality, business activity management, innovation and Group Operations teams. 

This role provides technical expertise in the development of new formulation based on clinicalevidence and change to current formulations where required. Aside from that, this role will also identify and assess all new scientific developments, new formats and ingredient trends/technologies and drive partnerships across external and internal teams. 

This role will be based in our Surry Hills office (NSW) with an expectation to work from office at least 3 days a week. This role will report directly to the Group Product Development Director.

Responsibilities include:

  • Partner with BioCeuticals Marketing team to drive Innovation for Group Growth.
  • Drive the development of a clinically effective, innovative and commercially successful Bioceuticals pipeline of new and current products (across ANZ). 
  • Play a key leadership role in bringing together the group product development, innovation and enabling teams (e.g, Regulatory and Quality) across the Bioceuticals Group. 
  • Contribute to the development of an organisation-wide product development process that integrates Braeside and identify specific initiatives to deliver on our business improvement plan.
  • Drive innovation, by identifying and assessing new scientific development, technology, industry and ingredient trends (H2/H3)
  • Proactively partner with other Product Development teams/ Blackmores Institute to ensure we have an aligned and ‘joined up’ program of innovation work.
  • Support the implementation, key objectives (Bioceuticals pipeline delivery) and ongoing functioning of Stage Gate & IBP processes to improve efficiency, impact and speed to market.

Who are you?

  • Qualified in the disciple of naturopathy, as a nutritionist or in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)
  • At least 10 years of experience in the field of medical sciences/nutrition/Naturopath/TCM or pharmaceutical formulation   or manufacturing or stability and analytical testing
  • Previous experience in development of clinical range will be an advantage
  • Ability to critically appraise clinical trials 
  • Strong understanding of local regulatory requirements and of clinical and regulatory landscape for practitioner only products.
  • Fast moving, solution driven with a good track record of successful execution and sound and compliant technical solutions
  •  Strong Knowledge of raw material suppliers, active and excipient ingredients and contract manufacturers
  • Understanding of packaging formats and their impact on product quality and stability
  • Passion for Natural health , and can Lead with integrity and responsibility with growth mindset
  • Strong working knowledge of Innovation (Stage Gate) processes and strong collaborator to work cross-functionally for product development and innovation
  • Good commercial acumen and understanding of business financials, mainly on profitability and COGS
