We have 2025 lunch cover vacancies at our Dorrington, Glendal, Mt Waverley, Mulgrave Park, Nara and St Johns preschools. Hours will vary depending on the sessions offered at each kindergarten, generally ranging from 2-3 hours per day, although there is possibility to combine lunch cover roles across 2 local services for additional hours (where practical). Your Role :

As a lunch cover educator with Y Kinders, you will have the opportunity to:

Create Engaging Learning Experiences: Design fun, creative, and tailored educational activities that nurture children's curiosity and development.

Build Meaningful Relationships: Connect with children and families to foster a warm and inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome.

Collaborate and Grow: Work alongside a passionate team of educators who encourage creativity and teamwork.

Ensure Safety and Compliance: Maintain a safe environment and follow the National Quality Framework (NQF), Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), and Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF) guidelines.

About You

You’re a dedicated, enthusiastic educator who loves working with young children and fostering their development. You’re looking for flexibility and opportunities to grow in your career. Ideally, you’ll have:

  • Educators: A Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education (or working towards it).
  • A strong understanding of the NQF, EYLF, and VEYLDF frameworks.
  • The ability to create and deliver engaging, child-centred learning activities.
  • A valid Employee Working with Children Check (WWCC), current First Aid certification, and a Police Check (or willingness to obtain them).
  • A friendly, team-oriented attitude and the ability to work with different age groups in various settings.
