About the Role
As a Peer Family Support Worker, you will offer vital support to families and carers as they navigate recovery following a loved one's suicide attempt. You will play a crucial role in providing guidance, psychoeducation, and peer-led support that fosters mutual understanding, confidence, and healing within families during crisis.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing compassionate peer support and psychoeducational tools to participants and their families
  • Connecting families with community services and resources
  • Leading peer support groups and educational sessions
  • Proactively following up with families to ensure continuous support
  • Assisting with service navigation and advocacy

What You Bring

  • Lived experience supporting a loved one facing suicidal ideation, crisis, or attempts
  • Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience in mental health support
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with diverse communities
  • Current Police Records Check, Blue Card (Working with Children Check), NDIS Worker Screening Check, and NDIS Worker Orientation Module (Quality, Safety, and You)
