About the Role
As a Peer Family Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing guidance, psychoeducation, and peer-led support to families and carers navigating recovery following a loved one's suicide attempt.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate peer support and psychoeducational tools to participants and their families
- Connect families with community services and resources
- Lead peer support groups and educational sessions
- Proactively follow up with families to ensure continuous support
- Assist with service navigation and advocacy
Requirements
- Lived experience supporting a loved one facing suicidal ideation, crisis, or attempts
- Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience in mental health support
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with diverse communities
- Current Police Records Check, Blue Card, NDIS Worker Screening Check, and NDIS Worker Orientation Module
