As a Peer Family Support Worker, you will play a vital role in connecting carers with a worker who has personal experience of being a carer to a suicidal person.

About the Role

The successful candidate will provide compassionate peer support and psychoeducational tools to participants and their families, connecting them with community services and resources. They will lead peer support groups and educational sessions, proactively following up with families to ensure continuous support. Additionally, they will assist with service navigation and advocacy.

Requirements

  • Lived experience supporting a loved one facing suicidal ideation, crisis, or attempts
  • Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience in mental health support
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with diverse communities
  • Current Police Records Check, Blue Card, NDIS Worker Screening Check, and NDIS Worker Orientation Module
