Our Lady of Perpetual Succour Catholic Primary School, West Pymble is currently seeking an energetic and passionate Classroom Learning support Teacher. The successful candidate will be suitably qualified and enjoy working in a dynamic and cohesive team.

This is a temporary part-time opportunity (0.6 FTE) to start on 26 august 2024 and end on 20 July 2025. During this engagement, the successful candidate will be required to work on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of every week. However, the days of work will be negotiable for the right candidate.

Specific Criteria

  • Highly effective, skilled classroom practitioner committed to the ethos of the Catholic School
  • Capacity to contribute to the school's Continuous Improvement Cycle and is committed to student achievement.
  • Work collaboratively with the classroom teacher to support and plan for students with diverse educational needs and identify specific learning adjustments.
  • Model exemplary classroom practice when tailoring adjusted learning programs that cater to the needs of all learners in a motivating and engaging environment.
  • Develop personalised plans for students with diverse learning needs in consultation with teachers and parents, demonstrating effective communication skills.
  • Provide direct assistance and support to students with diverse learning needs in the classroom.
  • Highly effective in managing and facilitating safe and supportive learning environments.
  • Skilled in analysing and reflecting on student learning data to ensure learning growth for all students.
  • Willingness to contribute to the broader extracurricular aspects of school life as an active member of the school community.

Applicants who are not currently working in a Broken Bay systemic school must have a 4-year training qualification or be enrolled to undertake further study that will provide them with a four year trained qualification to be eligible to apply for any teaching position in the Diocese.

New position on COVID-19 vaccinations

Given the current management of risks associated with COVID-19 in the community, and the gradual wind-back of some settings, CSBB has decided to no longer require all staff to be fully vaccinated, effective 19 September 2022. Staff who are not vaccinated will be required to wear masks when working with children at greater risk of serious illness owing to a medical condition and/or physical disability.
