About the role:
Reporting to the Acting CEO, the Finance Manager is a key position within the team, required to manage the day-to-day financial affairs of the organisation.
 
Candidates who will be successful in this position:
 
Excellent communication skills are vital as you will work closely with an external accountant and various stakeholders to ensure all financial matters are managed correctly.  

We are looking for an experienced financial professional to join the team to enable the organisation to continue the incredible work they do. 
  
Main Duties: 

  • Financial reporting, including reports for management and Board
  • Cash flow reporting
  • P & L analysis
  • Overview of invested funds
  • Assist with coordination and reporting to Finance Committee and other Committees
  • Reporting and analysis for Fundraising team
  • Accounts receivable, and payable management
  • Oversight of Financial Assistant and data entry, transactions and reconciliations within Xero
  • Maintain payroll and leave records
  • Develop, maintain and support strategic planning in financial management
  • Support development of Budgets and Financial Planning as required
  • Budget review and monitoring
  • Responding to financial queries
  • Support for Acting CEO/COO and management team

Essential Knowledge Skills, Education and Experience:

  • Tertiary qualification in accounting (CPA or CA) or similar from an Australian recognised tertiary institution is highly desirable
  • Previous experience in a similar role, including experience in financial reporting and analysis
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability and confidence to liaise with staff and stakeholders of all levels
  • Sound knowledge of accounting software (Xero desirable) and Excel
  • Strong attention to detail, highly organised with initiative and flexible approach to work
  • Able to work in a small office with experience in not-for-profit sector highly desirable.
