Senior Case Worker – Food and Financial Assistance – Western Region.

About the role:

Anglicare have an exciting opportunity for a permanent full-time Senior Case Worker to join the Western Sydney Team in the Food and Financial Assistance Program. In this role, you will be providing case work, financial literacy and outreach support. The Senior Case Worker is also responsible for coaching and mentoring staff and volunteers providing practice support in relation to short-term emergency relief and financial capability casework interventions.

This is a Permanent Full time role based in Mt Druitt.

Key responsibilities (not limited to):

  • Support Program Manager to ensure staff and volunteers are well supported and developed by providing practice support sessions and appropriate training. This also includes being available to debrief with staff.
  • Ensure individual needs of clients are met by providing a plan that is developed with the client, is clearly defined and with achievable goals and outcomes.
  • Ensure the Food and Financial Assistance program is well known in the community by attending local interagencies and networking with appropriate services.
  • Ensure documentation meets organisational, legislative and funding requirements by completing and maintaining appropriate client documentation including statistical information. This also includes preparing reports for internal and external use as required.
  • Actively contributes to best practice by overseeing and reviewing day-to-day casework operations of the team, monitoring waiting lists and leading initiatives within the team.
  • Model and actively foster a culture within the team which aligns with Anglicare’s Christian vision, mission and values.

About you:

  • Experience in working in short term crisis intervention and working with disadvantaged groups; including those who may be impacted by family and domestic violence, people living with mental ill health, culturally and linguistically diverse people groups.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Community welfare or equivalent practical experience.
  • Previous experience supporting a Case Work team.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills including the ability to network and establish positive relationships with people and the community.
  • Valid Working with Children Check
  • Covid-19 vaccination highly recommended
