Your Opportunity

Mission Australia's Transition to Work program provides free employment services to help employers recruit young talent, including trainees and apprentices. We support young people who have left school early or struggled to find work, helping them build skills and confidence for employment or further education opportunities.

Join us in transforming young lives As part of our team, you'll empower 15-24 year olds to overcome barriers and achieve sustainable employment and education. Your efforts will help them build essential skills and confidence. Whether they've left school early or faced challenges finding work, our Transition to Work service paves the way to success through apprenticeships, traineeships, and more. Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Create and regularly review personalized Job Plans for each eligible participant to ensure the effectiveness of interventions.

  • Monitor participant intake and collaborate with Services Australia, Employment providers, and youth agencies.

  • Establish and maintain relationships with participants to facilitate suitable initiatives and ongoing support.

  • Engage in activities such as canvasing and direct marketing to introduce participants to employers, provide interview support.

  • Develop relationships with training and specialist service providers for effective participant referrals.

  • Refer participants to suitable programs, including training, counselling, and work experience, to address employment barriers.

  • Provide advice on resume and interview preparation, applications, and Centrelink compliance.

Requirements for Success

  • Tertiary qualifications in youth work, employment services, career counselling, health, community services, or a related field are advantageous.

  • Experience in Youth Services, Employment Services, or case management is desirable.

  • Proven experience working with vulnerable people and/or young individuals.

  • A demonstrated track record of achieving KPIs.

  • Strong administrative experience.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other operating systems.

  • Current NSW driver’s license.

Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
