About the Team

Client Services is committed to providing excellent client experience and supporting the growth of the agency. By developing strong relationships built upon trust we help inspire our clients.

As a Business Director, you will work alongside the existing team on marketing projects encompassing our marketing performance and marketing production value proposition

+Accountable:  As part of the Client Services team, you will also act as the escalation and resolution point for your direct reports, as well as the trusted partner for your key client stakeholders. You will lead by example, demonstrating the importance of delivering in line with our Indicia Worldwide proposition and our client requirements.

+Pioneering: Deep dive in our client brands to immerse yourself in customer data to understand more about what makes customers tick and help clients optimize and harness technology to connect – thereby finding opportunities where others don’t see them.

+Entrepreneurial: demonstrate a desire to make a difference to our business, by playing a key part in the team, helping deliver growth as well shaping the client experience.


Purpose of the role

As a Business Director (BD), you will support and drive growth of the assigned accounts through balancing day to day operational support and leadership to the teams with a strategic approach to the client in order to enhance our service offering and overall performance.

+Vision: The Business Director takes the lead in establishing and nurturing strategic client relationships/engagement across all their brands/markets

+Mission: To activate the proposition of Indicia Worldwide through clients ensuring the best customer service, quality and value in line with our clients´ needs.

+Approach: To establish excellence in client services and account management through our values - Collaborative, Entrepreneurial, Pioneering and Accountable

You will contribute to the strategic direction and growth of Indicia Worldwide proposition and will work with your teams and the rest of Client Services teams on client development activities and strategies. You will have a commercial focus and you will work closely with the Client Partner to ensure the contribution to forecasting and the accuracy of the budgeting process. You will also be able to support the strategic framework to secure additional work independently based on current services and work closely with the senior management to educate clients on the value of the entire Indicia proposition.

You will have accountability for your team´s accuracy, quality, timeliness and profitability of multiple campaigns and projects by coaching and training your direct reports (and any more junior Client Services individuals) on how to manage the briefing, scheduling and delivery process on behalf of the client. You will be expected to help your team to identify opportunities for growth and share them with your Client Partner.
 

Skills, knowledge, experience and exposure:

  • Significant background in an agency or marketing and communications role
  • Demonstrated high level of exposure to multicultural and international environments and ability to effectively liaise with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong background in CRM and digital marketing strategy and execution
  • Full understanding of entire end-to-end marketing process, from client strategic requirements to deliver cross-channels
  • Strong understanding of retail and POS

Negotiation Skills: Diplomatically manage client and team conversations to find mutually beneficial outcomes, be it in terms of savings, value engineering, quality, design, strategy, etc.

Campaign Management : Support your team in the delivery of strategic high value campaigns and projects by providing them with the right insights, tools and leadership style.

Communication: Ensure that the team have a relevant and reliable flow of information on Indicia Worldwide’s capabilities, relevant client updates and internal ways of working. Communicate effectively with all relevant stakeholders – team, client and senior leadership as well as any other support function in the business

Customer Focus: Leverage all aspects of the client’s relationship and utilize knowledge to have maximum impact on the client’s business. Build and deliver clients ‘quarterly business reviews’ including optimization plans

Data Experience

  • Experience in working alongside data teams (analysts, data scientists) to deliver their role.
  • A foundational understanding of key concepts, statistics, machine learning, databases, APIs.
  • Understands where and when to leverage data. Understands which SME to engage depending on topic.

Tech Experience (non-tech team)

  • Understanding of organization technologies available and how to use key systems
  • Ability in sourcing/capturing problem statement/client objectives
  • Pre-empts/identifies opportunities for technology

Creative Experience

  • Experience in working within or with a creative agency
  • Deliver outstanding creative solutions - unique, single-minded and effective.
  • Understand the needs of the client and ensure these are fully met by all the internal agency departments (Strategy, Creative, Design, Production).

Retail Experience

  • Understands retail specifics & dynamics
  • Familiar with Shopper Marketing principles
  • Ability to identify opportunities across the retail activation value chain regarding effectiveness and efficiency

Digital Marketing

  • Understanding of the principals of developing, implementing, overseeing and optimizing digital marketing strategies
  • Up to date on the latest digital marketing trends and technologies
  • A sound understanding of CRM strategy and software systems

Relationship Management

  • Invest significant time with senior client stakeholders, acting as a ‘go-to’ person for them and helping them defining the strategic direction of their marketing/production plans.
  • Represent Indicia CAPE values and lead by example in ensuring that their direct team are also developing strong relationships with their client stakeholders and provide support whenever needed
  • Drive engagement through consistent and meaningful data driven interactions with the client
  • Ensure appropriate resourcing to the account, providing sound and factual business cases to support staffing decision making.
  • Support and facilitate development of the teams according to the feedback provided by the client and internal stakeholders

Growth

  • Proactively develop and implement initiatives to expand Indicia Worldwide’s offering to the client while ensuring that the direction of all the work and deliverables reflect the client´s mission
  • Build engagement strategies for growth across Indicia's performance marketing areas
  • Identify opportunities within the client business for increased scope of Indicia Worldwide’s capabilities
  • Identify successors and ensure a plan is in place for short-, mid- and long-term succession.
  • Build and facilitate such environment where the team feels empowered and engaged to thrive and deliver the company’s strategy
  • Ensure a balanced management concerning growth and client management in the allocated accounts

Financial Accuracy and Analytical Skills

  • Ensure sound financial management and profitability of the assigned account
  • Deliver growth within the accounts for existing and new business and delivering increased profitability through a solid cost management
  • Ensure reliability of the forecasting process, taking full ownership of the financial process and promoting accountability within the team
  • Support the Client Partner’s and Chief Client Officer in the yearly budgeting process

Strategic Thinking, Direction and Planning

  • Support the CP and the CCO in bringing Indicia Worldwide´s vision and goals life, by providing meaningful insights and relevant direction to ensure we are able to respond to all the needs of the client.
  • Present, consult and discuss with clients independently regarding potential new opportunities or areas where Indicia could add further values and to seek support from Client Partner or other Subject Matter Experts whenever needed

  • The Business Director is a ONE Indicia ambassador and is ready to activate plans to reach targets autonomously, keeping the relevant senior stakeholders engaged throughout the process and in a collaborative way, ensuring alignment between the client’s needs and Indicia Worldwide. At the same time, they hold a holistic understanding of Indicia Worldwide’s value proposition and offer and are ready to act as a first point of contact for the relevant senior client stakeholders.
  • They will be entrepreneurial and pioneering through creating the opportunity with the client to start conversations about growth and new services. They will also be able to keep a long-term view and manage pressure of the client and leadership, driving a culture that empowers their team members and facilitates accountability.
  • The Business Director is a people centered leader and will make their team a priority, finding always time to have meaningful interactions, quality time through 1:1’s and building a trustful relationship by providing and gathering feedback on a regular basis. They will proactively provide support to their teams and will feel accountable for the development of their direct teams.

  • The Business Director will also show a high level of prioritization skills and will be effective in delegating and managing workload through the team.

Role Requirements

  • The Business Director will be expected to spend a significant amount of their time on client interactions, with a preference to have them face to face, meaning that significant travel could be expected within the regional scope. Attendance to internal business meetings may result as well in travelling internationally.
  • The Business Director will be expected to deal with high level of complexity tasks and challenges with autonomy and ensuring alignment with company's strategy and directives.
  • They will be expected to perform in a flexible environment but ensuring delivery. In exceptional circumstances, overtime may be required to match client or internal deadlines.
  • The Business Director will be expected to conduct regular 1:1’s with their direct reports, ensuring that team’s motivation and wellbeing is kept track of.
