About the Role

Based at the Melbourne Children’s Campus within the vibrant Centre for Adolescent Health, this position involves conducting systematic reviews on the health and mortality of individuals experiencing homelessness, particularly focusing on children and adolescents.

The successful candidate will contribute to a critical research program that investigates the pathways into and out of homelessness.

This role offers the opportunity for significant knowledge translation activities and personal research development within a leading team known for its dynamic community of researchers and its unique focus on homelessness among youth.

Your responsibilities will include:

Conduct international literature reviews on the health and mortality of people experiencing homelessness. Contribute to research activities of an organisational unit as appropriate. Actively participate in departmental, institute and campus seminars and meetings.

Who We Are Looking For
You will possess a Honours or Masters level qualification in public health or a closely related discipline, with a strong interest and relevant experience in adolescent health.

Your expertise will include conducting systematic literature reviews using databases and software such as Medline, PubMed, Endnote, and Covidence, and you will have the ability to work both independently and as part of a cross-disciplinary team.

Excellent communication skills are essential, as evidenced by your ability to present clear and structured research summaries to both academic and lay audiences.

Desirable qualities include experience in preparing research reports for publication, a track record of peer-reviewed publications, and higher-level skills in systematic literature reviews. Additionally, you will demonstrate high motivation, leadership, and the ability to work autonomously.

You will have:

Honours or Masters level qualification in public health or a highly related and relevant discipline. Hold and maintain a current Working With Children Check and Police Check Knowledge of and adherence to literature review protocols and research practices. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated capacity to prepare research reports and manuscripts for publication.
