Research Fellow in Computer Vision

About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled researcher and educator to contribute to the University of Melbourne's School of Computing and Information Systems. As a Research Fellow in Computer Vision, you will play a key role in teaching and research, coordinating and conducting lectures and tutorials for undergraduate and postgraduate students, and leading independent research projects in AI, Representation Learning, and Natural Language Processing.
Your Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver high-quality teaching materials and conduct lectures and tutorials for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Lead independent research projects, analyzing data and communicating findings to collaborators and stakeholders.
- Prepare technical reports and manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals and maintain detailed records of experiments conducted.
- Collaborate with colleagues and assist in experiments to enhance the department's research output in AI, Representation Learning, and Natural Language Processing.
Requirements
- PhD in Computer Vision, AI, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, or a related discipline.
- Proven research record with publications in leading journals and conferences appropriate to experience.
- Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities, with a commitment to conducting independent and interdisciplinary research.
- Excellent communication skills for effectively conveying complex research concepts to diverse audiences.
- Desirable skills include experience with Deep Learning Frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow) and C++/CUDA programming.
