Our Group Support Services (Head Office) team, based in Eagle Farm, Brisbane, is seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join our active Accounts team.
  
The Role:

  • Managing inbound & outbound calls to investigate, identify and establish relationships with clients with outstanding debts
  • Contact clients with outstanding debt via phone, emails, and letters
  • Manage, negotiate, monitor, and process payments and payment arrangements
  • Liaise with internal departments to resolve client discrepancies/disputes
  • Operate within a set SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) to identify risks, manage, and reduce debts, and identify areas for improvement 
  • Assess client accounts and recommend remedial action as required
  • Maintain data integrity within the system by updating, and maintaining accurate and relevant client data
  • Conduct credit checks and recommend actions based on outcomes
  • Periodic and consistent reporting of collection efforts and outstanding debts
  • Detailed and accurate file action notes for all client interactions
  • Comply with client policies, company policies and procedures
  • Ability to identify and manage sensitive information with key client accounts/relationships
  • Weekly & monthly reporting

The Person:

  • Minimum 3 years’ demonstrated experience in a collections/debt recovery role
  • Competent in Microsoft Office suites - Excel and Word
  • Experience working with Oracle
  • Strong communication and influencing skills
  • Demonstrated organisational skills and strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated skills in negotiation, objection handling and problem resolution
  • Advanced customer service skills
  • Resilient approach to changing circumstances
  • Passion for results and ability to work in a KPI driven environment
  • Good knowledge of the National Customer Credit Protection Act 2009, Privacy Act, ACCC Debt Collection Guidelines and basic knowledge of Consumer Credit Code
