With the development these years, OSMEN is rapidly expanding, and have 9 stores located in Alexandria, Auburn, Artarmon, Belrose, Castle Hill, Moore Park, Mosman Park and Smithfield.

About the role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our growing team. The Accountant will play a crucial role in maintaining financial records, preparing financial statements, analyzing financial data, and ensuring compliance with accounting policies and regulations.

1.       Review and approve source documents, such as invoices and cheques, substantiating business transactions.

2.       Prepare invoices, cheques, account statements, reports, and other records, and review for accuracy.

3.       Reconcile bank statements.

4.       Manage accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments.

5.       Prepare of monthly operating statements.

6.       Manage payroll for employees, ensuring timely payment of wages and addressing related employee tax and superannuation matters.

7.       Prepare statutory compliance reports for the Australian Taxation Office. (GST, PAYG, FBT and BAS)

8.       Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes, monitoring budgetary control.

9.       Oversee/complete month-end processes up to balance sheet, including reconcile general ledger accounts.

10.   Prepare financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow forecasts.

11.   Assist in year-end audit preparation and liaise with external auditors.

12.   Ensure compliance with accounting standards and procedures.

13.   Any other tasks as required by the Management team.

Essential Skills

1.       Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

2.       Professional Certification (e.g., CPA) with a demonstrated commitment to excellence and comprehensive understanding of accounting standards.

3.       Have experience using a diverse range of accounting software programs.

4.       Minimum 6 years of experience in accounting roles, preferably in retail or wholesale sectors.

5.       Experience working in a large or listed company highly preferred.

6.       Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

7.       Proficiency in English, Mandarin and Cantonese preferred.
