Position Overview: As a Project Coordinator at BGIS, you will support the Project Manager in delivering audits, inspections, testing, and remedial works for aged infrastructure and essential services. Collaborating with a specialist contractor, your key responsibilities include:

  • Identifying defects in building structures and fabrics through visual and, when necessary, intrusive inspections.
  • Implementing immediate remedial actions to address identified risks and ensure safety.
  • Conducting risk assessments of remaining defects to recommend necessary remedial actions for mitigating risks and maintaining ongoing safe facility operations.
  • Managing all aspects of the Essential Services testing program to ensure compliance for issuing Annual Certifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Document Control: Manage and maintain program documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with client guidelines.
  • Quality Oversight: Ensure all documentation meets quality standards and client processes.
  • Team Support: Assist the broader team in overseeing project milestones and documentation.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Address the needs of stakeholders to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Project Coordination: Support the team in completing various project stages effectively.
  • Value Delivery: Help deliver optimal value for Defence through meticulous document management and quality assurance.

Reporting Structure: You will report to the Project Support Team Lead and work closely with Project Support Supervisors, acting as a gatekeeper for quality and accuracy to enable the team to complete various project stages efficiently.

Qualifications & Experience:

Essential:

  • Vocational training in building systems or construction.
  • Minimum of 2 years of administrative or coordination support experience, preferably in a construction or project management environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with project management software and/or ERP systems.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems and National Construction Codes (NCC).
  • Developed commercial acumen and a working knowledge of contract law.

Desirable:

  • Certificate IV in Construction or a relevant qualification (preferred).
  • High school diploma.
