Macquarie Park, Australia CHEP Full time

CHEP helps move more goods to more people, in more places than any other organization on earth via our 300 million pallets, crates and containers. We employ 11,000 people and operate in more than 55 countries. Through our pioneering and sustainable share-and-reuse business model, the world’s biggest brands trust us to help them transport their goods more efficiently, safely and with less environmental impact.

What does that mean for you? You’ll join an international organization big enough to take you anywhere, and small enough to get you there sooner. You’ll help change how goods get to market and contribute to global sustainability. You’ll be empowered to bring your authentic self to work and be surrounded by diverse and driven professionals. And you can maximize your work-life balance and flexibility through our Hybrid Work Model.

Job Description

The Role:
CHEP is seeking a dynamic Capability Specialist to evolve the technology-based learning system for our plant employees, and partner with key stakeholders across operations, safety, quality and HR to develop a capability roadmap based on future needs. This role will identify capability gaps and lead the development and implementation of training material and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), manage training compliance, along with mentoring and coaching a cohort of operations team members who deliver and execute the National Training Calendar.

What you’ll do:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to enhance technology-based learning systems and identify and plan to address future capability needs.
  • Develop and implement training for plant operations, equipment, safety, and other procedures at Service Centres.
  • Lead the creation of competency-based training packages and support the development of SOPs.
  • Partner with site based trainers to coach, guide and support them in the delivery of the National Training Calendar
  • Facilitate the implementation of policies, procedures, and standardization across safety, quality, and production.
  • Manage training compliance and governance through the Beakon system, partnering with Operations and Safety teams.
  • Support Zero Harm strategies and safety compliance across Service Centres.

About you:

  • Proven project management, training development, and facilitation experience.
  • Experience in building training plans and programs across all channels (classroom, individual and digital)
  • Able to engage effectively with cross functional stakeholders to help gather feedback of current systems and determine requirements of future design
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or equivalent) or Tertiary qualifications in a related field are desirable.
  • Experience in production or manufacturing environments preferred.
