Speech Pathologists at NAPA Centre complete skilled assessments and provide intervention to infants, toddlers, children, and adolescents with disorders that affect development of motor, cognitive, and behavioural skills within the professional scope of practice. The role will require all therapists to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide evidence-based interventions to patients with complex communication and feeding needs.

About the role:

We have waiting lists of customers and are seeking more passionate paediatric speech and language pathologist to join our state of the art clinic. We can offer both full time and part time roles and our team is large enough to support graduates all the way through to highly experienced speech therapists.

NAPA Centre offers our customers intensive three-week programs to our customers (Mon- Friday only) utilising highly innovate and evidence based therapy methods and technology, from all around the globe, which is supported by typical weekly sessions. We have a proven track-record of helping children achieve and even surpassing their physical goals. We have a strong framework in multi-disciplinary rehabilitation and early intervention, and use diverse techniques of traditional and non-traditional therapies. Each of our programs are tailored to each individual child's specific needs, which in some cases involves a combination of speech and language therapy, feeding therapy, and/or AAC training.

  • Minimum qualifications include completion of at least a Bachelor of Applied Science (Speech Pathology), from an accredited University.
  • Clinical experience - at least 2 years post graduate Speech Pathology experience
  • Current Working with Children Check & Police Check
  • CPR and First Aid certificates.
  • Current registration with SPA.
  • Current Professional Indemnity Insurance.
  • Current Medicare Provider Number or capacity to obtain.
  • Ability to create a safe, professional, and supportive environment where clients, families and colleagues feel empowered to succeed.
  • Ability to communicate confidently and effectively with clients and other medical professionals.
  • Demonstrates a level of professional empathy towards clients and the ability to develop rapport. 
  • Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with clients and their families.
  • Demonstrates discipline by completing all documentation, reporting requirements and training in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Team player that can demonstrate the values for working as part of multi-disciplinary team to advance a clients needs.
  • Demonstrates the ability to take on additional responsibilities with time, including assessment and development of treatment plans for more complex cases, supervision of therapy aides/volunteers and additional clinic responsibilities.
  • Ability to travel for periods of time for training/treating may be required
