Senior Paediatric Speech Pathologist

The Senior Speech Pathologist (Paediatrics) is accountable to the Allied Health Service Manager, Women's & Children's Health, for the planning, development, co-ordination, implementation and evaluation of the paediatric Speech Pathology services provided to inpatients and outpatients.
Key Responsibilities- Provide Acute Assessment and Management: Provide acute speech pathology assessment and management of complex clinical cases including utilisation of instrumental investigation in the evaluation of swallowing (eg FEES, videoflouroscopy) where clinically indicated
- Lead and Coordinate Services: Lead and coordinate the day-to-day operation of paediatric speech pathology services at FMC
- Advice on Professional Development: Provide advice to management on professional service development, practice and redesign, in response to demand and client needs
- Clinical Supervision and Training: Provide clinical supervision, mentoring and training to other members of the team
- Teaching and Training: Participate in teaching and training of speech pathology students on clinical placement
We are seeking an experienced paediatric speech pathologist with skills in the clinical management of paediatric feeding and dysphagia. The ideal candidate will have the ability to lead and work as part of a team, work under pressure, prioritise workloads, and meet deadlines. They will also have a demonstrated ability to work in an independent manner with limited supervision and proven experience in delivering high quality and safe care consistent with the National Safety and Quality Health Care Service Standards.
