OH&S Field Officer - National Building Support

Be involved in a diverse range of Metricon construction projects with a strong focus on OH&S. You will be responsible for facilitating site inspections and provide guidance based on your Safety First principle.

Reporting to the WHS Manager, your responsibilities will include: Implement Work Health, Safety and Environment Management Systems (WHSMS) and assist with its compliance;Facilitate amendments and provide guidance to OH&S implementation process at site level; Complete reporting on WHS performance and provide WHS advice to the Site Managers, with consideration to due diligence obligations;Identify WHS training requirements for the VIC Business Unit site staff;Assist with assessment of subcontractor documentation/new contractor pack submissions;Facilitate workplace inspections and internal audits, while monitoring compliance to the incident reporting and investigation process; andContribute and adopt ideas and that improve the efficiency, effectiveness and productivity of the overall WHS function.

The successful candidate will have: MUST HAVE Australian Residential construction experience to train our trades and Site Managers on their sitesCompleted Diploma Occupational Health and Safety Completed and hold a White Card, trade or scaffold ticketCompleted qualifications in a First Aid CertificateCurrently hold a valid driver’s licenceExperience within a similar role within the construction industryExtensive knowledge of Workplace Health & Safety Management Systems and relevant WHS Acts and Regulations, Compliance Codes and Codes of Practices, Australian Standards and Guidance Materials; andHigh computer proficiency in MS Office suite of products including report writing ability.
This role requires a national police check and medical check to be undertaken to the successful applicant.
