Eastern Health

About the role
Grade 1 physiotherapists will be welcomed as part of our broad Grade 1 rotational workforce participating in four monthly rotations, across six locations spanning the continuum of care from acute, subacute and community. Eastern Health comprises 26 fulfilling rotations within the Aged and Complex Care, Cardiorespiratory, Musculoskeletal and Specialty Medicine (neurology, oncology, vascular) streams as well as advanced rotations in Hospital Admission Risk Program, Emergency Department, GEM at Home, Community Rehabilitation and the Intensive Care Unit.
You will be well supported throughout your professional journey with regular clinical supervision delivered by highly skilled senior clinician physiotherapists who provide a wide range of professional development and quality improvement opportunities across the Eastern Health network. You will work cohesively alongside Allied Health Assistants, physiotherapy colleagues and the wider health care team to provide great care, everywhere, every time.

Eastern Health has a well-defined structure for our graduate program to maximise your professional development and enhance your career trajectory. We offer a range of stimulating leadership opportunities to our experienced Grade One physiotherapists; including, but not limited to, Grade One Ambassador roles, student supervision skill development, quality and research engagement with strong affiliate links with Latrobe University as part of our Eastern Health Allied Health Clinical Research Office. The Allied Health Transition to Practice Program is offered to successful graduate candidates, providing a structured curriculum incorporating innovative support and development strategies.
About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:
- Current Physiotherapy registration with AHPRA
- Recognised tertiary qualification in Physiotherapy
- Demonstrated personal ideals which align with Eastern Health values
- The ability to safely and effectively manage and prioritise a designated caseload
- Experience in performing a range of targeted assessment procedures to support clinical reasoning
- A strong commitment to integrating evidence based practice to deliver high quality care
- The ability to identify and delegate suitable tasks to colleagues and/or AHAs
- Recognition of own scope of practice and appropriate escalation to seniors
- Effective time management and communication skills encompassing verbal, non-verbal and written communication
- Sound knowledge of discharge planning options
