- 13 weeks contract role with possible extension.
- Hourly pay rate upto $55/hour.
- Onsite location: Sydney Olympic Park.
- 7.6 hours a day. 38 hours a week.
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
In this role, you are responsible for the coordination of injury management services for workers with non-work-related injuries and health conditions with the goal of achieving a timely, efficient and sustainable return to work.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Develop Recover at Work programs to facilitate the recovery and subsequent return to work of employees ensuring maintenance of best practice in recover at work services.
- Develop, implement and monitor recover at work plans for non-work related injured or ill employees in line with medical advice.
- Communicate regularly with the Management teams and Business Partners to determine ongoing fitness for work, including facilitating the necessary medical and fitness for work information to assist in decision making as required.
- Communicate regularly and work closely with the Claims Officer, Claims & Litigation on income protection cases, including ensuring workers are aware of their entitlements.
- Review outstanding cases on a regular basis, including maintain regular contact with injured or ill staff and key stakeholders involved in their recovery.
- Maintain a confidential case notes database to ensure all relevant documentation relating to a non-work related injured or ill employee is up to date, correct and their privacy is maintained. This includes extracting relevant information from the database to provide accurate information on case management and case status as required.
- Assist in promoting recovery at work and the health benefits of work to managers and supervisors, and attend sector, division and unit meetings where required.
- Perform other Recover at Work and Workplace Safety related duties as directed by the Manager Claims & Litigation, Manager Recovery, or the Associate Director Recovery.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Sound knowledge of policies relating to the management of non-work-related injuries or health conditions.
- Proven understanding and experience in case management practices and principles.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and coordinating recover at work plans, programs and interventions for managing non-work-related injuries or health conditions.
- Effective written and oral communication skills, including negotiation and presentation skills.
- Qualifications or related experience in, or knowledge of allied health initiatives in relation to injury management and return to work, including SIRA accreditation as a Return-to-Work Coordinator.
- Ability to use information technology systems for recover at work case management.
