The opportunity

Greater Western Water (GWW) is looking for a savvy and motivated Business Analyst to join our growing team

In this newly created role, you will work across the business and play an important part in bridging the gap between business needs and IT solutions. You will work closely with the Project Manager on a variety of technology focused projects from data centre consolidation to cloud & systems.  Day-to-day you will connect with various departments to understand their operational processes, tools, and people needs, and translating insights into clear requirements, to assist the IT team to develop innovative solutions that directly align with our business strategy and drive successful outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Gather and translate business needs into technology requirements to support technology initiatives. 
  • Conduct workshops as required and ensure relevant documentation is kept up to date. 
  • Ensure business approvals are provided for Change Requests as a requirement for CAB. 
  • Engages testers and develops test plans for the Change.
  • Working closely with the Project and Program Manager.

Skills & Experience

  • Knowledge of tools and techniques - SharePoint Online, MS Office suite, Excel, Jira, and Confluence would be highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role with a good understanding of business system analysis, technology focused projects, and confident project co-ordination skills.
  • Effective time management skills with the ability to set own priorities, organise and manage workload, aligning to business priorities and responding proactively to daily priorities.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, workshop ideas, triage, manage priority tasks and provide support across the group.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and communication skills complimented by the ability to communicate processes and complex information, to diverse audiences.
