The opportunity  

GWW manages a significant capital plan and change agenda in support of its mission and purpose. The permanent position of Lead Business Architect has been established to architect the operating models, translate strategy into execution and inform enterprise-wide transformation. You will guide the refinement of business models, including business capabilities, value-streams and alignment with enterprise architecture designs, to deliver on our 2030 strategy for the entire enterprise. 

Responsibilities 

  • Working right across the GWW business groups and stakeholders, leading business capabilities, project and priority of work with business projects
  • Bridge the gap between strategy and execution utilising business architecture artefacts to provide a view of priorities 
  • Participate in development and application of principles, standards and minimal viable architectures through the EA governance model 
  • Work collaboratively to identify opportunities for change, review business cases, and develop investment portfolio 
  • Utilizes a toolbox of business architecture deliverables to help enterprise leaders identify and make investment decisions 
  • You will play a pivotal role in GWW’s transformation projects to ensure that business roadmaps are updated and aligned with changes in direction or strategy, and those changes are reflected accurately in technology roadmaps 

Skills & Experience 

  • Extensive experience as a Business Architect,  Business Analyst or Enterprise Architect
  • Extensive business or IT experience where you have played a lead role in strategy formulation and/or translation, business analytics or program management.
  • Having a flexible mindset is paramount where you thrive working in a progressive and adaptive environment
  • Advanced knowledge of business capability modelling, business motivation modelling and value realisation 
  • Strong technical knowledge and ability to communicate complex business architecture scenarios  
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills as well as exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to cope in a technically complex, at times ambiguous and ever-changing environment
  • Be resilient and adaptive in your approach to work
  • Water industry, utilities, energy or telco experience preferred

To be eligible, you must also have full permanent working rights to work in Australia and be residing in Victoria.
