Quick overview of the role
We are currently seeking an experienced Transport Coordinator to join our team in a full-time capacity. This role is responsible for managing our Thornton Service Centre transport operations in accordance with safe, compliant loading and driving procedures. Reporting directly to the Branch Manager, this role collaborates between customers, production and our logistic teams to ensure deliveries are loaded and delivered in a safe and timely manner to meet customer requirements.
What will you be doing?
- Allocate daily sales orders to manifests to ensure customer schedules are met
- Organise, maintain, and coordinate driver rosters
- Ensure safe loading procedures and guidelines are always adhered to
- Regular communication with customers to ensure schedules and deliveries are as expected
- Liaise with Currumbin warehouse and transport operations to coordinate stock transfers
- Ensure drivers are completing jobs and documentation as per procedures
- Liaise with Production Planning to ensure truck loading is consistent and aligned to the production plan
- Organise the pickup and delivery of any customer return products
- Meet chain of responsibility, compliance, and all transport legislation
- Answer and respond to customer calls and transport queries
- Facilitate general service centre enquiries and sales as required
- Follow up on any delivery queries or issues and where necessary, escalate any significant issues
What are we looking for in the successful candidate?
- Solid understanding of transport management and coordination
- Experience scheduling efficient runs for transport operations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with effective rapport building skills
- Strong administration skills and competency in Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, maintaining a high attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Highly organised and able to meet strict deadlines
- Creative thinker with strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with team members, senior management, and other stakeholders
- The ability to work as part of the team and contribute effectively to achieve targets
