About the role: 

The Head of Operations fresh produce position will report into our General Manager, Produce. You will be responsible for two key operations focus areas: representing stores within the Fresh Produce business unit and ensuring activities are fit to land in store: as well as being the SME (i.e. the voice of stores) and are accountable for designing operating models. In this role you’ll work side by side with the general manager and wider commercial team to transform this business unit’s operating models, merchandising standards, and land new concepts.

You’ll serve as a conduit between our merchandising and operations team where we have the collective goals of reducing waste and uplifting in store team capabilities.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include bot not limited to:

  • Interact with wide variety of people in our stores from produce managers to merchandising
  • strive to deliver consistently for the future while meeting the needs of our customers and team members.
  • Understanding operations across fresh produce to manage costs and reduce waste.
  • Identifying, designing, and manage the execution of customer-centric operational transformational initiatives

About your skills:  

In this exciting role no two days will be the same. Our ideal candidate is someone with a long-term strategic lens who is highly collaborative and has a proven operational background. You’ll also have a vested interest in upholding regulatory and compliance standards.

Your skills should include:

  • Proven people leadership experience with ability to coach, motivate, and inspire teams.
  • Demonstrated experience working successfully with senior management to deploy initiatives aligned to business objectives
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment to deliver buying strategies and meet business needs for quality and financial results
  • Support the design and delivery of both BAU and transformational in-store activities that grow sales and profit
  • Influence strategy design and execution to ensure initiatives are fit to land for stores
  • Tertiary Qualification in relevant field e.g. Commerce, Marketing
