Are you ready to step into a leadership role that truly makes a difference? We’re looking for a dynamic and experienced Mental Health Nurse Unit Manager to join our dedicated team and take the lead in delivering exceptional care in a thriving health service.

In this pivotal role, you will draw on your expertise to coordinate patient care and oversee nursing and multidisciplinary team activities, ensuring continuity and high-quality outcomes. You’ll play a key role in managing a specific span of wards, units, or services while improving patient flow, clinical outcomes, and service delivery. You’ll also support the development of policies and quality improvement processes to elevate the standard of care provided.

You’ll lead and support nursing staff, oversee after-hours management, and use your clinical knowledge to guide your team through challenges, ensuring patient safety and satisfaction remain a priority. With responsibility for managing resources, including staffing levels and budgets, your expertise will shape the future of mental health care within our service.

Essential Criteria

  • A Registered Nurse with a Graduate Diploma in Mental Health Nursing and a minimum of 3 years post-registration experience.
  • Proven leadership and management skills, including experience supervising staff and participating in accreditation processes.
  • Experience working with Aboriginal communities to ensure culturally appropriate care.
  • Expertise in risk management, resource allocation, and staff development.
  • Strong proficiency in computer systems, including Microsoft Office, and financial management.
