We have an exciting opportunity for Senior Analyst, Risk Assurance to join the team. Perpetual’s Risk team is responsible for managing Perpetual’s Risk Management Framework, including risk related Programs, Policies and systems. The execution of a robust Controls Assurance Program is an essential element to a robust Risk Management Framework. The Senior Analyst, Risk Assurance will be part of a team responsible for the implementation and execution of control’s assurance activity across the Perpetual Group. The primary focus of the role will be to execute and enhance Perpetual’s Controls Assurance Program delivering continuous improvement of Perpetual’s control environment.
Key tasks and outputs:
Assist in developing and delivering the Enterprise Risk team strategy
Actively contribute to Perpetual’s Controls Assurance (CA) Program and the development and continuous enhancement of CA methodologies and standards for assessing, monitoring and reporting on the effectiveness of Perpetual’s control environment
Delivering end-to-end CA review activity (e.g. Assist in the development of the annual CA Plan, and individual CA review deliverables – participate in all planning/scoping, fieldwork/testing and reporting activity) in accordance with the CA Program
Supporting the development and execution of the Perpetual Risk and Control Self-Assurance (RCSA) Program. As part of this ensure divisional and business unit practices align to the RCSA Program. This includes assisting with the monitoring and oversight of divisional and business unit control testing activity, results and actions to identify opportunities for improvement
Provision of assurance and control related support and advice to business unit initiatives and projects, including some participation in working groups, independent assessment of risks and the adequacy of controls, as well as response to business queries
Development and provision of risk and control training initiatives on relevant topics to help strengthen understanding of key processes and roles/ responsibilities identified through Controls Assurance activity
Developing effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels across Perpetual’s business
Developing effective relationships within the Risk & Compliance function and with other stakeholders including Business process owners and the Internal Audit function
Identifying industry best practices and sharing insight with the broader risk team to enhance the value of the Controls Assurance activity
Foster a culture of knowledge sharing and collaboration across the Group; and positively contribute to all aspects of the Risk discussions, debate and decision making
To be considered for this role your skills and experience could include:
Degree qualified in either finance/commerce, law or accounting disciplines, with a passion for further personal development
Post-graduate qualifications (highly desirable)
3+ years’ experience working in controls assurance, risk advisory or internal audit roles within a financial services environment ideally working towards a Manager level role
Understanding and practice of how to test control design and operating effectiveness
Previous experience in drafting inputs to reports/ presentations/ training on risk and controls assurance activity (including targeted assurance reviews) for presentation to Management stakeholders as required
Previous experience working in a national or multi-national firm (considered advantageous for this role)
Knowledge of compliance requirements (ASIC/APRA/SEC/AFCA) within the financial services industry desired
Data analytics (SQL/SAS, Tableau, PowerBi etc) skills/ experience considered advantageous but not a requirement of this role
Excellent communicator and relationship manager
Proven ability to be results oriented and drive good stakeholder outcomes.
