About the role

We have a great opportunity in our vibrant Sydney office for an experienced Technical Trainer to join our Information Technology team on a full-time basis. Reporting to the National IT Manager, and also working closely with the People & Development team across our national offices, this position will be responsible for delivering, and improving existing training programs, to support the professional growth and development of our lawyers and other employees. This role requires an understanding of the legal industry, exceptional communication skills and a passion for fostering a culture of continuous learning.

Some of your day-to-day responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Design and deliver comprehensive training programs on Microsoft, Adobe, and other productivity applications
  • Conduct instructor-led training sessions, including national systems training for new starters, both in-person and virtually
  • Provide hands-on support and troubleshooting during training sessions
  • Assess training needs and customise training programs to meet the specific requirements of our clients
  • Collaborate with the IT team and Vendors to launch new software services, ensuring that training programs are aligned with new technologies and updates
  • Stay updated with the latest developments with our applications and integrate them into training programs

About you

Our ideal candidate will have a passion for all things learning and development, as well as a background and experience in technical training and the creation and delivery of learning pathways. As one of the first people our new starters will interact with, your enthusiasm and passion for providing outstanding customer service will shine in the delivery of systems training.

Some of the key skills and qualities we are looking for in a candidate include:

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, and the ability to tailor your communication to various audiences
  • Proven experience as a Technical Trainer, particularly with Microsoft products such as Microsoft 365, Teams and Adobe. Knowledge of legal software programs (iManage, Aderant, Mattersphere) will be beneficial.
  • Ability to pick up technical systems, and deliver engaging technical training content to various audiences
  • Certification in Microsoft technologies (e.g., Microsoft Certified Trainer) is a plus
  • Experience with e-learning platforms and learning management systems
  • Ability to work autonomously, and as part of a team in a fast-paced and deadline driven environment
  • Commercially minded with a customer service approach
