About the role

This role operates in a matrix reporting to the Senior Finance Manager (C&I), as a trusted finance BP to the WLA General Manager and SAE Licensing General Manager with one direct report. The Commercial Finance Manager is responsible for the commercial and finance functions across WLA / Licensing, in partnership with the central finance support teams. This role is responsible for all FP&A tasks and coordinates / contributes to strategic / business planning processes. A member of the WLA Leadership team, this role will support WLA / Licensing and other relevant stakeholders across C&I / Navitas Group. This role could be based in either Melbourne CBD or Adelaide CBD.

Key Responsibilities:

Commercial Modelling and Insights

  • Providing commercial insights by thoroughly analysing the financial performance of the business units' product portfolio.
  • Identifying potential risks, spotlighting key drivers of revenue and costs, and unveiling future revenue growth opportunities.
  • Collaborating effectively with functional teams to develop and assess business strategies, ensuring these strategies are in harmony with overarching business goals.

Budgeting, Forecasting, and Corporate Planning

  • Taking lead in the annual budget and quarterly forecasts preparation. This includes liaising with the Executive team to understand forecast assumptions and pinpoint areas of risk / opportunity.
  • Lead the preparation of the budget documentation and active involvement in the annual presentation and review process.
  • Managing the production of monthly management reports that assess the financial performance, emphasizing key performance drivers, risks, opportunities and trends.
  • Driving the development and refinement of financial forecasts as an integral part of the corporate planning process.

Strategic Development and Implementation

  • Contributing to the strategic development and rollout of the BU’s initiatives, ensuring they align with the overarching Corporate Plan.
  • Leading the crafting of data-driven strategic insights to enhance decision-making across the board.
  • Collaborating proactively with the Executive Leadership Team and other stakeholders, ensuring strategic objectives are met and exceeded.

The person we seek will ideally have the following

  • A relevant degree qualification in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration and CA or CPA qualified
  • Demonstrated experience in Senior Commercial roles displaying well developed analytical, decision making and influencing skills. Minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience with at least 3 years in a similar role.
  • Commercially aware and financially astute mindset, understanding of how specific drivers impact business performance.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capability with an ability to work systematically through complex matters and positively influence outcomes.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (primarily Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrated attention to detail to ensure highly accurate reporting is delivered to key stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Student and customer focus in all dealings with stakeholders.
