is Australia’s first integrated centre for perinatal mental health care and provides mental health treatment and support to new parents.

With one in five mums and up to one in ten fathers experiencing depression, anxiety and other mental health issues before or after the birth of a child, this new facility will triple the number of public beds in Queensland from 4 to 12 for families in need of perinatal mental health support.

Mater Health has several mental health programs including Catherine’s House which is a large perinatal mental health service. This role will work across all mental health services and provide leadership in the expanding mother and baby units across the state as they are established.

Salary range: $56.19 - $60.19 (MCA level 6) plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900

What you’ll be doing

The Mental Health Information Manager will:

Provide leadership and management of the integrity of mental health information systems internally and externally. Facilitate and lead delegations under the Mental Health Act 2016 including staff training and CIMHA access to ensure legislative compliance and standards are met. Coordinate Mental Health Information Management Systems across Mater Services including the expansion. Support the further development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of key performance indicators, service standards and medico legal and legislative compliance. Contribute to the Operational Planning in relation to data management, service profiling, data retrieval and analysis and completion of activity and service reporting. Support the execution of the Mental Health Act Administration and legislative compliance of the Mental Health Act 2016 The role is central to the governance of the Mental Health Act and supports the Clinical teams and leadership of Catherine’s House. The role will also form part of the senior leadership team and support the service needs as required in administration requirements including evaluation, day to day service needs and overseeing of strategic data and activity reporting. The role will work closely with the Clinical Director and Operations Manager as part of Catherine’ s House and will interface with other senior administrative positions across Mater.

About you

A tertiary qualification in business, health, administration or a field relevant to the role. While not mandatory, a relevant qualification in information management and or the health sciences field would be well regarded. Knowledge of the Mental Health Act, 2016 (desirable) Previous experience at a manager level (desirable) Previous experience in overseeing the Mental Health Delegation function and Information management systems as part of the Mental Health Act 2016 and associated legislative compliance requirements Coordination or experience in the CIMHA training across Mental Health Services High level office and administration systems management skills Financial acumen and detailed knowledge of health-related funding arrangements and terminology Proven data management capability and translation into data analytical skills The ability to be agile, resilient and balance conflicting demands across services Demonstrated ability to operate in a team environment and autonomously using initiative, sound reasoning and strong decision-making skills Demonstrated experience of utilising contemporary technological systems Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills Support and coach team members through conflict resolution processes Display strong attention to detail with the ability to analyse information to identify problems and develop novel solutions across service streams
