The Role
The Director of Assurance, Review and Risk for the Defence Digital Group (DDG) will actively lead a team to provide timely and accurate advice to DDG senior leaders, intervene before risks or issues occur, and report on ANAO and Defence Integrity findings. 

You will be responsible for:

Providing on demand advice on risk, assurance audit and performance management and supporting DDG with risk, audit and assurance activities. Establishing an active assurance and internal audit system and being the centralised point to coordinate risk and audit assurance activities for DDG. Enhancing the management of risk within DDG to actively manage operational and enterprise level risks aligned with Defence priorities. Formulate repeatable and reportable performance measures to ensure that DDG is achieving required outcomes outlined in the DDG Business Plan and under CIOs Strategic Accountabilities and Responsibilities. Conduct internal reviews to provide a performance view of all Group operations inclusive of project and program performance. This is a highly visible and influential role, with the successful candidate required to conduct regular health checks on DDG, report on our success factors and assist senior leaders identify vulnerabilities from emerging risks.  Our EL 2 DDG Director roles exercise independence, have demonstrated excellent leadership skills within a diverse and integrated workforce of capability-focused professionals and is responsible to achieve complex risk, audit and assurance deliverables.

Our ideal candidate will have:

Excellent understanding of Australia’s strategic policy. Extensive work experience with risk, audit and assurance. Understanding of the requirements of risk, audit and assurance within the public sector (including working with ANAO findings) Exceptional leadership qualities and capabilities to lead a team to achieve outcomes. Outstanding communication, planning and relationship building skills to work across all stakeholder levels.  Experience providing guidance to senior level officials.  Proven experience of being a trusted advisor to senior Government officials. Most importantly, you must be a strong and flexible leader, and thrive in a dynamic environment. Additional professionalisation, training and development will be offered to successful candidates.
