The Role

ABC News is looking for a talented and highly motivated journalist to join its dedicated team based at Lismore.

Under routine direction of the Editor, ABC North Coast, you will create high-performing online stories, engaging videos for broadcast and digital platforms, audio news and packages for live radio and on demand and have the opportunity to share the stories of local people and the community nationally. 

The Job

As a Reporter, you will: 

Create engaging multi-platform content under Local Editor's guidance.  Present news across formats, including live breaking stories.  Contribute to content planning and development for audience reach. Collaborate on shareable local content for ABC-wide distribution. Produce diverse stories reflecting Australia's broad demographics.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will also have: 

Strong editorial skills with critical information analysis Deep understanding of local audience interests Passion for storytelling that reflects Australia's diversity Proven ability to develop and maintain community contacts Commitment to authentic, culturally representative content A current and valid Driver’s Licence
