Project Manager - Restoration and Transformation Projects

Description

Lismore City Council is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to lead the delivery of large-scale infrastructure projects in the community. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the restoration and transformation of community assets, ensuring high-quality outcomes, and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with managing contractors to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Ensure critical milestones are met in programs or prompt reporting of program slippages with recommended corrective actions.
  • Prepare contractor packages and manage negotiations, communications, and expectations.
  • Maintain a strong safety focus and flexibility to operate on large projects or between numerous smaller projects.
  • Lead the team in the strategic execution of large-scale landslip and pavement projects, navigating complex infrastructure projects from inception to completion.
  • Coordinate all aspects of projects to achieve success, including time, cost, quality, and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Ensure project adherence to regulatory, legislative, and corporate governance requirements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, civil, or project management.
  • Experience managing and managing contractor contracts.
  • Postgraduate qualifications in project management are desirable.
  • Experience in community infrastructure, earthworks, drainage, road construction, and buildings.
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen and the ability to interpret and apply contracts.
  • Demonstrated high-level decision-making, negotiation, and influencing skills.
  • Significant experience in managing major subcontract packages for large-scale complex building or infrastructure projects.
  • Robust understanding of relevant legislation.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to build a high-performing team that delivers excellence.
  • Detailed knowledge and demonstrated high-level experience in project management, planning, budgeting, and cost control.
  • Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • This is an annualised salary rate + superannuation.
