Senior Data Analyst, Collections

  • You should have worked as a data analyst with exposure to Credit risk & expert SQL skills - bonus points for experience in Collections analytics
  • Enjoy end to end ownership of your analytics and get exposure to a wide variety of challenges that you might not get at a bigger organisation.
  • Ability to work flexibly, with two team-connect days in office each week.

Write your story with Zip

When you join Zip’s Credit Risk Data team, you will be putting your name to a variety of business-critical initiatives attached to our ANZ strategy, including uplifting our credit risk management, fraud control and credit decisioning capabilities.

With a broad remit across credit risk strategy and decisioning, forecasting, portfolio analytics and controls monitoring, our Risk Management & Data Science team is a key strategic interface between the business and a varied range of both internal and external stakeholders.

Working with world-class platforms and given the freedom to experiment and uplift your analytical and modelling capabilities, you’ll be a part of a flat structure and a close-knit team responsible for improving the commercials related to arrears and repayments.

Interesting problems you’ll get to solve

  • Leading the design, implementation, monitoring and management of Collection strategies to mitigate credit losses by testing and assigning appropriate treatments to delinquent accounts
  • Drive continuous improvement in collection strategy effectiveness with focus on incremental profitability (i.e. losses avoided less cost to collect including incentives).
  • Ensuring all credit risks associated with collections are understood and quantified with effective reporting, across all components of collections (People, Data, Process, Technology, Strategy, Control Quality and External Collectors)

What you’ll bring to the team

Zipsters work on a broad range of initiatives, and our skills and experiences all look a little different. What really matters to us is that you’re a great fit with our four Values, and have a desire to learn and grow.

So whether you meet some or all of the desirable attributes below, we’d still love to hear from you:

  • Proven experience working as a risk/ data analyst, ideally working across unsecured lending products
  • Ability to influence decision makers with data, proactive approach to drive results and improvements across credit risk.
  • Solid SQL skills
  • Exposure to solving problems in the collections space is highly regarded
  • Experience delivering data visualisation dashboards across business critical insights (we use Tableau).
  • Experience using DBT would be great but not an absolute requirement as we will help you learn
  • Team player, enthusiasm for learning new tech and jumping into a diverse range of projects

What you'll bring to the team

  • An aptitude for identifying and managing risks. Whether you are a People Manager or an Individual Contributor, we are all leaders at Zip, therefore effective risk management is important to how we run our business and part of all our roles.
  • Our values in your DNA: Customer First, Own It, Stronger Together and Change the Game

What you’ll get in return

As we write this next exciting chapter in our story, we will continue to move at pace and embrace change. For you, this might mean opportunities to learn new skills with hands-on experience, broader responsibilities, or the buzz of seeing your work impact customers faster.

Zip is a place where you’ll get out exactly what you put in. When you join the team, we'll do our best to make sure you can be yourself and surround yourself with smart, friendly colleagues and leaders who have your back, so that you can make the big things happen.
