About Us
Excelsia College was founded in 1983 as Australia's first Christian arts college and, together with Indiana Wesleyan University, we are part of a global Christian learning community with big plans to take Christian higher education to the next level in Australia and the Asia-Pacific region for undergraduate and postgraduate students. Excelsia College has attained Self-accrediting Authority and is on a trajectory to achieve Australian University College status.
About the Role
Primary responsibilities include:
- Direct the formulation of strategic student compliance planning;
- Identify students who are at risk of not complying to their student requirements of satisfactory course progress;
- Provide direction and integration of student compliance activities to fulfil the College obligations under the ESOS National Code;
- Provide international students with personalised advice and information about their study requirements and all other aspects of their college life and on any matters related to their life as an international student;
- Ensure overseas student enrolment and progression is compliant under all regulatory frameworks such as ESOS, TEQSA, Department of Home Affairs (DHA), and PRISMS.
Selection Criteria
To be successful in this role, applicants must address the selection criteria below and attach their response as a separate document in the application process.
Qualifications and Professional Standing:
- Possession of a relevant degree level qualification, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience/ training.
- Experience in a higher education (2+ years), working with international students.
Essential:
- Committed Christian, involved in a local congregation.
- Knowledge of concepts, practices, principles and procedures of International student's regulatory frameworks.
- Technological literacy in a wide range of desktop applications to support reporting and analysis role requirements.
- Strong analytical, evaluative, and critical thinking skills and the ability to analyse, summarise, and present data.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders in a diverse community.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, and confidence in presentations.
- Proven organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated understanding of compliance systems and controls.
- Ability to use independent judgment and to manage and impart confidential information.
- Detailed knowledge of laws and regulations affecting the private higher education sector.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to the development of institutional policies and procedures.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Must have acute attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
