About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Compliance Officer to join our team at the VENTORA Group. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring our compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive compliance framework to oversee contract management, supplier due diligence, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor and ensure adherence to mandatory reporting requirements.
  • Conduct thorough due diligence on potential suppliers to ensure compliance with our standards.
  • Identify and mitigate potential compliance risks to protect our organization.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant Australian building codes, industry standards, and procurement regulations to ensure our compliance.
  • Collaborate with the procurement team to ensure all purchases comply with established standards.
  • Conduct training sessions for internal stakeholders on procurement compliance procedures.
  • Maintain, update, and roll out template agreements in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Liaise with the Senior Leadership Team and external law firms regarding corporate secretarial matters.
  • Review, draft, and/or develop non-complex legal documents and communications independently.
  • Assist with the management of legal issues on a day-to-day basis under the direction of the Chief Legal Officer.
About You
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in a compliance-related role.
  • Strong understanding of Australian compliance regulations and best practices.
  • Strong understanding of ILPA, Modern Slavery, FSC Certification, and Climate-related financial disclosures.
  • Prior in-house paralegal and compliance experience (preferred).
  • Tertiary qualification in Law (preferred).
  • Relevant knowledge of legal principles and sound legal advisory skills.
  • Ability to communicate confidently and effectively with the business and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
