Senior Project Engineer

As a Senior Project Engineer within our Cane Supply and Transport team, you'll take the lead on impactful capital projects, drive operational improvements, and manage major maintenance initiatives. With a primary focus on railways and civil projects, you'll play a vital role in shaping Wilmar's cane railway assets and infrastructure to meet evolving business needs. From initial planning to project delivery, you'll ensure quality, safety, and efficiency, making a tangible difference in the region's essential operations.

This position can be based at any of our 8 Mill sites in Northern Queensland spanning from Sarina to Ingham.

Your Role in Action

  • Mastermind Big Projects: Take charge of capital projects, budgets, and keep the cash flowing smoothly.
  • Shape the Future of Cane Railway Infrastructure: Participate in the development and execute a strategic capital plan that aligns with corporate and business goals.
  • Keep Projects Rolling Smoothly: Ensure every step aligns with business goals and hits the mark.
  • Lead, Mentor, and Motivate: Provide guidance and mentoring of junior members within the team, fostering compliance and performance excellence.
  • Deliver with Precision: Make sure projects stay on schedule, on budget, and exceed expectations.
  • Keep Safety on Track: Elevate safety awareness, enforce policies, and champion compliance.

Your Winning Combination

We're looking for someone with tertiary qualifications in a relevant Engineering discipline, or equivalent practical experience, to join our team. You'll have a strong background in project management within a heavy industrial environment, with experience leading multi-disciplined projects. While not essential, experience or knowledge of railway infrastructure and operations would be a valuable asset. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are a must, along with a commitment to continuous improvement and safety.
