Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team in Mackay. As a key member of our Building Services team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise, design, documentation, and project management for various infrastructure, building, water, transport, defense, mining, and other projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake and manage the design and documentation of Building Services including electrical power reticulation and distribution systems, lighting design, standby power generation, communications cabling, lightning protection, fire detection, audio visual, and security for various new or revamp-related projects.
  • Interesting projects through all phases, from tender preparation and design delivery through to construction support.
  • Direct client engagement during delivery and active involvement in winning work.
  • Supervising and mentoring junior team members.
  • Managing multi-discipline projects, while engaging with internal and external stakeholders.
What You Will Bring

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • 6+ years' experience in the design of electrical installations and the ability to lead and manage electrical design teams undertaking work in property and buildings, water, transport, and Defence market sectors.
  • A strong understanding of electrical standards, National Construction Code, codes, and regulations, as well as renewable energy resources and industry software.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, teamwork, and client service skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and teams.
  • Fully conversant with Australian standards, electrical acts, and supply authority regulations.
  • Experience in dealings and liaison with clients, contractors, architects, civil engineers, project engineers in multi-discipline project teams, and an understanding of local council/authority, utility, and QFES requirements.
