  • Direct and lead the delivery of the Bank’s public education program.

  • Direct a small specialist team to coordinate and deliver curriculum-relevant economics content at different stages of learning for high school and undergraduate university students.

  • Work with communications specialists to broaden the Bank’s engagement with schools and the general public.

As the Senior Manager, Public Education, you will be responsible for the strategic direction, design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the education program. You will oversee research and program evaluation to ensure the effectiveness of the education program in realising its strategic aims. Your team will also ensure that information about the Bank’s roles and functions is available to the public in formats suitable for different stages of learning and for different engagement needs.

Your Role

  • Driving the development and implementation of a strategy for the public education program.

  • Overseeing the development of curriculum-linked content to support economics students, and resources and professional development activities to support economics teachers.

  • Overseeing the identification of suitable formats to deliver content to educators and students.

  • Managing internal and external relationships with key stakeholders to support and enhance the public education program.

  • Directing research to monitor the landscape for economics education and evaluate the effectiveness of the public education program.

  • Providing advice on ways to enhance the program in support of the Bank’s functions and objectives.

  • Working with communications specialists to identify content and forums suitable for engaging a broad audience about the RBA’s roles and functions. This will include identifying opportunities to support increased economic literacy.

Your Background

  • A degree in education, economics or closely related field.

  • Strong knowledge of the Bank’s role and functions.

  • Advanced skills in work planning, stakeholder management and communication.

  • Demonstrated experience in delivery of programs.

  • Familiarity with the development of education resources and with delivery of education programs would be highly regarded.

  • A working with children check will be mandatory. The role will require occasional weekend work.
