Vista Tax and Accounting is a private accounting firm that provides professional tax and accounting services to over of thousands of happy clients in Victoria, Australia. Vista Tax and Accounting is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will oversee financial planning, budgeting, and reporting, ensuring compliance with Australian regulations. You will lead our finance team, providing strategic insights and analysis to support business growth. Job Summary: As the Finance Manager, you will lead a finance team, support strategic decision-making, and ensure the financial health of the organization. Reporting to the Finance Director, you will oversee the financial operations, month-end close & reporting, tax & regulatory compliance, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll management.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Planning and Analysis

- Develop and oversee the annual budget process, ensuring alignment with the organization’s strategic goals.

- Prepare financial forecasts and analyses to support decision-making and long-term planning.

- Analyze financial results compared to budgets and forecasts, providing insights and recommendations.

2. Financial Reporting

- Prepare and submit financial reports in compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and regulations.

- Prepare and present accurate financial reports including Profit and loss statements and balance sheets.

3. Cash Flow Management

- Manage and monitor cash flow to ensure sufficient liquidity for operational needs and growth initiatives.

4. Risk Management

- Identify and assess financial risks, implementing strategies to mitigate exposure.

- Establish and maintain effective internal controls to protect company assets and ensure financial integrity.

5. Financial Controls & Compliance

- Controlling and verifying all transactions posted to financial system are complete, accurate, and classified to the correct cost centers prior final approval by finance director.

- Budget controls on all outgoings and expenditures.

- Developing, enhancing, and controlling to make sure that all financial transactions are supported by adequate supporting documents.

- Make sure that financial policy and procedures are implemented and all financial operations are in compliance with financial policy and procedures.

6. Team Leadership, Development & Managing

- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions.

- Identify training needs and provide professional development opportunities for team members.

- Lead and develop the finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.

- All aspects of month-end close procedures including journal entries, account reconciliations, and submission of all required financial reporting.

- Liaise with external auditors during the annual audit process, ensuring compliance with all requirements

7. System and Process

- Oversee, developing and managing of financial systems and tools, ensuring they support accurate reporting and efficient operations.

- Identify opportunities for process enhancements and implement best practices in financial operations.

Qualifications:

-         Financial Statements, Financial Reporting, and Budgeting skills

-         Experience in Finance and strong Analytical Skills

-         Knowledge of financial systems and reporting processes

-         Attention to detail and accuracy in financial data analysis

-         Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting

-         Relevant Diploma, Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field

-         Familiar with Xero, QuickBooks Online, and Excel

-         At least 5 years of experience with proof of records in finance manager position
