The Opportunity

Bridgeman Downs Retirement Village is a close-knit community set amongst beautifully maintained gardens and grounds in Brisbane's northern suburbs. Home to 180+ independent retirement living units & apartments, you will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, cleaning and repair tasks around our retirement village. Working closely with the Community Manager, you will ensure our buildings & fixtures are well-maintained and presentable. The ideal Maintenance Officer will enjoy the ability to work autonomously, consider themselves 'handy' and will be friendly and personable with our residents

This opportunity is a full-time Monday-Friday position working 8-4pm

You will

  • You will attend to various maintenance requests to create a safe and pleasant environment for residents, visitors, staff and others
  • Liaise with staff and residents to ensure projects undertaken are safe, timely and completed to a high standard
  • Oversee maintenance work undertaken by contractors within the community
  • Carry out preventative maintenance tasks around the community as per schedules 
  • Assist in driving our village mini-bus to take residents on trips 
  • Be a friendly face to the residents and work alongside a fantastic team
  • Please note - this is a maintenance/repair role, we've got our gardening covered

What you will bring

  • Experience in General Maintenance roles or domestic 'handyperson' skills (highly desired)
  • A warm & caring personality with an interest to make a difference every day
  • Valid driver's licence (required)
  • Current Police Check certificate (required, but if you do not have one, we can complete for you)
  • Two COVID-19 Vaccinations (required)
