About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Officer - Facilities Specialist to join our team at Western Downs Regional Council. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our buildings and facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake repairs, maintenance, replacements, and modifications of Council buildings and campgrounds in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
  • Assess requested works and prioritize CRM's logged for service, recommending and procuring internal and contracted treatment options.
  • Identify and resolve issues with a range of equipment at various facilities, including heated aquatic centers, lifts, and large HVAC systems.
  • Problem solve and troubleshoot maintenance issues, finding cost-effective solutions and using knowledge of the technical and practical workings at various sites.

Requirements:

  • A proven high level of experience in building repairs and maintenance.
  • Experience in performing a variety of quality building maintenance activities, including painting, maintenance, and minor building construction tasks.
  • Experience with coordinating and supervising contractors on a job site.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Competent computer literacy.
  • A Construction Induction White Card.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • A trade qualification in carpentry or extensive experience in the building and/or building maintenance industry.
  • Bobcat and/or Elevated Work Platform tickets.
  • MR Drivers Licence.
