Position Details



We are seeking an outstanding and enthusiastic Student Learning Support Coordinator with teaching experience in Secondary to join our team at St John Bosco College. This position is an ongoing 0.6FTE position for Semester 2, 2024; with the possibility of increasing to 1.0FTE in 2025.

St John Bosco College is a Catholic co-educational College in its tenth year of operation. The College is situated in Piara Waters, a southern suburb of Perth, Western Australia. We commenced in 2015 with students from Kindergarten to Year 2. In 2024, we have 1195 students from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 11, as well as an OSHC facility and an Aboriginal Families as First Educators Playgroup. In 2025, we will grow to a Pre-K-12 College. Our innovative building design has a focus on shared, flexible learning spaces which support best practice, 21st century teaching and learning methods.

Selection Criteria

• A strong commitment to the Catholic ethos of Catholic Education and St John Bosco College and a willingness to promote and support Catholic values as a member of the Bosco community.
• Be an enthusiastic, flexible and cooperative educator in supporting students with their learning, who will work collaboratively with all staff within the College.
• Possess a sound knowledge of educational theory and pedagogy appropriate to cater for the learning needs of individual students.
• Possess the ability to coordinate the SWD Funding applications and management of NCCD Date, and liaise with parents, staff and CEWA.
• Be able to assist staff to reflect and analyse data to assist in the development of plans, e.g. IEPs, that promote the social and academic development of our students.
• Possess a sound knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum, in particular the General Capabilities and implementation of these in relation to students with special needs.
• Demonstrate the capacity and enthusiasm to build community by participating fully in College activities in collaboration with staff, parents, students and the Parish.
• A commitment to Child Safety and Protection consistent with the CEWA Child Safe Framework.
• Be able to demonstrate highly competent classroom management, pastoral care and learning area skills.
• Demonstrate a high degree of professionalism and excellent communication and organisational skills.

Qualifications Required

• Education Teaching qualification (minimum 4 years)
• CEWA Accreditation
